Amanda Vela

Welcome!

I am currently the Geometry Pre-AP teacher and one of the Algebra II Pre-AP teachers. Teaching is a passion that I have. My students are a reflection of me and my drive for teaching. When students get that “aha!” moment, I feel as though all my hardwork has paid off. I hope to continue providing students with the knowledge and rigor they need to become the successful future leaders of America that I know they can be.

Geometry Pre-AP

Algebra II Pre-AP

Course description: Throughout the course, students will:Algebra 2 book

Algebra II is an extension of the concepts taught in Algebra I. Topics covered includes properties of functions, equations and inequalities, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, system of equations and inequalities, matrices, and conic sections. Symbolic manipulation and calculator skills will be extensively taught and practiced. You will be expected to talk, read, write, and use critical thinking skills to demonstrate your understanding of the concepts studied. The content of this course is crucial for future math courses and for college entrance exams, such as the ACT.
