At La Joya Early College, school counseling services play an integral role in fostering the academic and personal development of each student.

Recognizing the unique challenges posed by an accelerated curriculum that melds high school and college-level coursework, LJECHS provides robust academic planning and advisory services. Students receive personalized guidance in course selection, ensuring that they are on track for both their high school diploma and associate's degree.

Beyond academics we offer socio-emotional support, addressing the unique pressures of the early college environment. Workshops on stress management, time management, and interpersonal skills are regularly organized.

Furthermore, as students approach graduation, career counseling sessions help them chart a path forward, whether they choose to continue their education or step into the professional world.

What we are ethically called to do is create a safe space in our schools and classrooms where all students can walk in and, for that day or hour, take off the crushing weight of their armor, hang it on a rack, and open their heart to truly be seen.
