“La Joya Early College High School played a pivotal role in shaping my journey towards becoming a mechanical engineer. This exceptional educational institution provided me with a solid foundation in mathematics and science, instilling in me a passion for problem-solving and innovation,” Gonzalez said.
Through the school's challenging curriculum and committed educators, Gonzalez gained the skills and confidence for advanced engineering studies, and its emphasis on a growth mindset and extracurricular involvement further ignited his passion for mechanical engineering.
“Through its rigorous curriculum and dedicated educators, I gained the academic skills and confidence necessary to pursue higher education in the field of engineering. Moreover, the school's emphasis on fostering a growth mindset and encouraging students to explore their interests allowed me to participate in extracurricular activities and STEM organizations, [including] SHPE and Mu Alpha Theta, that further fueled my enthusiasm for mechanical engineering,” Gonzalez said.
